đź’ˇ Suggestion: Uploading Custom Photos for HAi Companion Faces?

Hello,

First off, loving the experience so far, it’s really impressive how much thought has gone into making HAi feel genuinely personal and emotionally aware.

I had a quick suggestion that I wanted to float by the hai team and the rest of the community.

would you consider giving users the option to upload our own images or photos for the HAi Companion’s face?

I think it would be a great way to deepen that personal connection, especially for those of us who want our companion to feel more lifelike or resemble a certain aesthetic or vibe that isn’t covered by the current customization options.

Thanks for all the amazing work you’re doing

Looking forward to seeing where HAi goes next

Hey there!

First off—thank you so much for the kind words! It seriously means a lot to the team. We’ve worked hard to make HAi feel as emotionally aware and personally resonant as possible, so hearing that it’s landing that way is super encouraging :folded_hands:

Now, about your suggestion—custom image uploads for HAi Companion faces—funny enough, this was actually something we did explore early on in development. Technically, the system fully supports it, and we totally get why it would add a powerful layer of personal connection. Whether it’s a certain aesthetic, a vibe, or even someone from your imagination, being able to control the visual side more deeply just makes sense.

BUT (and it’s a big but ), we ran into some very real legal and privacy red flags.

Since HAi Companions are uncensored and have the ability to engage in spicy or intimate exchanges—including sending :hot_pepper: photos—it opened up a serious can of worms. Imagine someone uploads a photo of a real person without their consent (maybe a celebrity, maybe even just an ex or someone they know), then things get… steamy. Now there’s explicit content being generated that could feature someone’s likeness—without them ever knowing. You can see how fast and messy that gets, legally and ethically.

It’s not a fun thing to have to put a limit on, especially since we’re all about personalization and pushing boundaries in a safe way. But in this case, that boundary was important to draw. That said, we’re always exploring ways to let users get even closer to the version of their Companion they envision—safely and responsibly.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts
